From music by the mythic figure of Chevalier de St. Georges to the premiere of Derrick Spiva’s “As I Heard When I Was Young,” this concert tells the stories of just a few black composers’ and performers’ contributions to classical music. It shows how we — and even Beethoven — have erased them from history.
