Camerata Pacifica’s final program for 2019 features two icons in the realm of human expression. J.S. Bach composed the canons, fugues and the trio sonata of his Musical Offering upon a short theme provided by Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. After hearing a private performance of Beethoven’s String Quartet in C-sharp Minor, Op. 131, an overwhelmed Schubert reportedly said: “After this, what is left for us to write?” With this program we share from these composers at the zenith of their output.
